Agree! Increase military budget order F35s and new generation weaponary to protect Hellenic sovereign territory. The EU, UN and NATO have now become unions which the international community cannot take seriously. All have double standards and are hypocrites - even towards their allies. Greece should take the UK’s lead and leave the EU corrupt toothless union all it’s managed to achieve is economic mayhem.

After decades of military leadership decapitations by ND and PASOK, budget cuts and social experimentation, Greece's Military is a shadow of it's former self. Today it is woefully incapable of mounting a strong defense of our borders, and mistakenly believing the EU will come to our rescue.

We are ALONE and our fate rests in our hands.

Generally our police force sacrifice and dutiful-loyal bound to their oath. However their hierarchy has been badly tainted by years corruption, politics and interoffice strife going back to Andreas Papandreou's Regime. Simply read the news of recent break-ins, riots and acts of vandalism by Leftists to see one obvious common denominator; NO ARRESTS WERE MADE. That however is clearly NOT the case when police zealously 'investigate' acts by the Right.

Is this just coincidence, luck, intrigue or political patronage towards personal career advancement.

Also true that the far right side of Cyprus was corrupted by Jounta. Some wanted unity with Greece and some didn't and that caused trouble. It's NEVER a good idea to have extreme ideals cause it always brings trouble. We should all learn from our past mistakes but also Turkey should FINALLY admit to all the HORRIBLE things they did to so many neighborhood countries (not just Cyprus and Greece) and MAYBE we will TRY and forgive.

Guest999 Let me clarify to thes8niki's comment (without speaking for thes8niki) Turks ARE NOT Cypriot. Turkish Cypriots ARE Cypriots. We want it or not, they have been for many centuries. After the Ottoman occupation, Cyprus had 2 major communities and at some point we lived together. It wasn't perfect but it was what it was.

A very important action as it is essential to remember the victims of every totalitarianism (nazism, fascism, communism, etc...). Only the rule of law and individual freedom can protect any society of such ideological cancers.
Thessaloniki was a prosper and important city when it had many minorities (Jews, Slavic, Armenians, Aromanians, among others). Now it is blooming again thanks to new diversity and good management by Mr Boutaris.
